How does your taxi meter
calculate the fare?

Taxis in urban areas may or may not be connected with a meter. Metered taxis have uniform fares and very low chances of fraud. Complaints can be filed with the nearest Traffic Police Office with the taxi number. Rates may change over time.

How Is Your Taxi Fare Calculated?

Minimum: Rs. 14 (day) or Rs. 21 (night) โ€” charged at the very start of every trip.

Convert Distance to Metres
km ร— 1000 = metres. Then apply: (rate per 200m รท 200) ร— total metres.

Calculate Waiting Charge
(rate per 2 min รท 2) ร— total waiting minutes.

Add All Three Components
