Learn what a function is, explore how it can be represented, then practice solving.
A special relation in which every element of the first set is related to exactly one element of the second set is called a function. If a relation is defined from set A to set B, where A and B are two non-empty sets, and every element of A has a unique (exactly one) image in B, then that relation is called a function. It is denoted by f: A → B and written as y = f(x), where x ∈ A and y ∈ B. It is read as "y is a function of x."
