Duplet and Duplet Rule
In the atom of helium, there is only one shell (K-shell). It is the first and last shell of the helium atom.
The state of becoming stable by attaining two electrons in a K-shell is called the duplet state.

Octet and Octet Rule
Except for helium, all other inert gases like Neon (Ne), Argon (Ar), and Krypton (Kr) have 8 electrons in their valence shell.
The state of bearing 8 electrons in the outermost shell of an atom is called the octet state.
Elements with fewer than 8 electrons will lose, gain, or share electrons to reach this stable arrangement.
