Combined Solid Objects

Definition

A Combined Solid (or composite solid) is a three-dimensional figure made by combining two or more basic geometric solids together—such as cylinders, cones, spheres, hemispheres, or prisms. When these individual shapes are joined at their faces, they form everyday practical items like architectural structures, tools, toys, and utensils.

CYLINDER CONE
A Tent is formed by placing a Cone on top of a Cylinder.
CONE HEMISPHERE
An Ice Cream consists of a Hemisphere and a Cone.
CYLINDER CONE
A Pencil combines a Cone (sharpened tip) with a Cylinder.
